Milling Britain’s Finest Flour for over 100 years
The Matthews family has been trading grain and milling flour in the heart of the Cotswolds since the 1800s. We’re proud to offer premium quality Organic and Stoneground Wholegrain flour, using grain from local farmers and traditional milling techniques. This fantastic prize will give two lucky people the chance to come and see how we do it! We'll arrange a date that works for you, in coordination with our local partners, so winners will need to have their details shared to enable bookings.
Generations of Farming Families
Built by FWP (Frederick) Matthews on the river Evenlode in 1912, you’ll find us working here to this day. Overlooking the picturesque Cotswold village of Shipton-Under-Wychwood, our mill is part of the landscape in this beautiful part of the world. It’s where we mill, pack and ship every order to your door. Today, the company is led by father and son team Paul and Bertie Matthews – FWP Matthews’ great, great-grandsons.

We run these regularly throughout the year for groups of up to ten at a time - by appointment only with limited tickets each year. Look out for special Baking Club emails as we make new dates available for 2024.
Theatre Tickets
This year and next we're supporting our local theatre as they celebrate 50 years of performance, and we're offering two tickets to one of their shows as part of this epic prize! Lark Rise By Keith Dewhurst, from the book by Flora Thompson, is a special production and is sponsored by Matthews Cotswold Flour (currently planned for July 2024).

We work to minimise disturbance to the soil and maximise crop diversity, integrating grazing livestock and encouraging deep root growth to deliver maximum nutrients to crops.
FarmEd Visit
Farm-Ed is a local not-for-profit partner of ours, who specialise in educating and inspiring people on all things agroecological! Based at Honeydale Farm, a picturesque 107 acre mixed farm in the Cotswolds, they are just two minutes away from our mill. As part of your prize you will get to tour the farm and enjoy a regenerative lunch at the FarmEd cafe. If you're passionate about building a better environment and eating great food, FarmEd is not to be missed!

The competition is open to entrants based in the UK only, excludes travel expenses, and prizes are to be fulfilled by MCF (FWP Matthews Ltd, "the company") and no partners mentioned on this page are involved in the administration of this competition or delivery of prizes.
Should all or part of the prize not be available or deliverable, due to unforeseen circumstances, MCF will endeavour to offer a suitable alternative of equivalent value at the company's discretion. No cash alternative is available or offered.
Entrants details will not be shared with third party providers (unless necessary for delivery of our marketing communications, as detailed in our Privacy Policy) or where explicitly required for the delivery of prizes to the competition winners.
Prize package accommodates two adults only, and will be delivered during 2024 in coordination with the winners and MCF. Should the winners be unable to accept the prize or prove impossible to contact, MCF reserves the right to redraw after all reasonable attempts to arrange have been exhausted.

Matthews Cotswold Flour launched the Young Baker Programme to encourage more young people to turn their passion for home baking into a successful career in the bakery industry. The Young Baker Award has been developed in response to feedback from our pro-baker customers, indicating an ongoing shortage of good bakery staff joining the sector.
