General Delivery Terms & Conditions

0.1 Service Update

Please note that we are experiencing exceptionally high demand, and orders are currently taking up to 10 working days to despatch from date of an order being placed. We are also experiencing some production delays, and some items are taking longer than usual to return to stock. We apologise for any inconvenience these issues may cause and thank you for your patience as we bring things back to normal.

1.0 Now Available In The USA On Amazon.com

We are pleased to announce that we are now stocking our Organic flours on Amazon.com. Our US sister company is Matthews Cotswold Baking Company Inc, and all North American orders are currently Fulfilled by Amazon. You can find our US Amazon store here. (Lines Restocking ETA April 2026)

1.1 Dispatch Times & Item Availability

FWP Matthews Ltd (FWP) aim to process and dispatch your Order within 5 working days of receipt. If a particular product you have ordered is not available, then the unavailable item will be placed on back order and your entire order will be dispatched when the item becomes available.

1.2 Delivery

Delivery shall be arranged by FWP unless otherwise expressly agreed. FWP shall be free to arrange delivery by such method of carriage as FWP may choose. Delivery shall be to the address provided by the Buyer for delivery. FWP may deliver an Order in more than one delivery at its discretion.

1.3 Delivery Days

Deliveries are Monday to Friday and will generally be before 5pm, although this cannot be guaranteed. If a delivery time is quoted this is only a guide and cannot be guaranteed. There are no deliveries on Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays.

1.4 Examination of Goods

On receiving the delivery the Buyer will examine the Goods.

1.5 Shortages and Discrepancies

In the event of any shortage or discrepancy between the Goods delivered and the Goods ordered or invoiced for the Buyer shall notify FWP within 7 days of date of the delivery, or in the case of a discrepancy between delivery and invoice as soon as possible and in any event within 7 days of invoice. If no such notification is received then that shall be regarded as conclusive evidence as to the delivery being correct in both quantity and description.

1.6 Tampering/Defect/Damage/Deterioration

In the event of the Goods suffering any actual tampering, defect, damage or deterioration the Buyer shall notify FWP as soon as possible and in any event within 7 days of date of the delivery of the same specifying the tampering, defect, damage or deterioration in question. The Buyer shall retain the Goods so affected unless FWP expressly agrees otherwise and permit FWP to inspect or collect the same as it sees fit at FWP’s expense in the first instance. If no such notification is received, or the affected Goods are not retained, then that shall be regarded as conclusive evidence as to the delivery being free from tampering, defect, damage or deterioration.

1.7 Non Delivery

In the event of non-delivery of the Goods the Buyer shall notify FWP of the non-delivery as soon as possible and in any event within 7 days of the date of invoice for the Goods that are not delivered.

1.8 Notification

Notification for the purpose of this clause must be by email and sent to sales@cotswoldflour.com

2. Delivery Charging

2.1 Delivery Cost

Shipping cost is calculated on a "per box" basis, each box incurs a standard rate plus a surcharge (zonal supplement) for some areas of the UK.

2.2 Base charge per box: £6.02 ex VAT (£7.22 inc. VAT)

Base charge will be subject to VAT (See Section 2.3). All orders below £50 will be subject to the base charge per box, while deliveries to some Delivery Zones will incur additional surcharges (see 3.1 to 3.5).

2.3 Tax:

20% VAT is charged in addition to the base charge and any applicable zonal supplements. Ex VAT, the current standard Base charge per box is 6.02.

2.4 Items per box:

Due to the varying size and weight of our products, different quantities fit into one standard delivery box. To improve our environmental impact and to reduce your costs as much as we can, we will always use the fewest boxes possible to package your order. This is reflected in our website delivery pricing as follows:

  • 1.5kg bags = 5 or 10 per box (depending on order quantity)

  • 16kg sacks = 1 per box

  • Bread mix 6 packs = up to 3 per box (18 x 500g Bags)

  • Books = free when bought with other products, 1 per box if bought alone.

2.5 Free shipping:

Orders in the “Standard” zone (which includes the Isle of Wight) and “London Congestion Charge” zone over £50 (after any additional discounts have been applied) qualify for free delivery. The Standard zone is all postcodes not specified as qualifying for a zonal supplement in the section below (Section 3). We are not able to offer free shipping to other zones (Sections 3.3, 3.4, 3.5) even when orders are over £50.
