To celebrate World Nutella Day, our very own pro baker (Sophie Carey) has created a quick and easy Italian dipping recipe! Made using our Italian Tipo 00 Flour, this sweet Pizza Stick recipe is ready in just 35 minutes and is great as a snack or for dessert!

Pizza Breadsticks with Nutella Dip Method:

1)       In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the water, olive oil, yeast, and sugar. Leave these to sit for 5 minutes while you gather the rest of the ingredients

2)      To the bowl, add the flour and salt. Mix on a slow speed for 3 minutes then on a medium speed for 7 or 8 minutes, until the dough is nice and stretchy

3)      Place into a lightly oiled container - I like using a large Tupperware tub but you could use a big bowl - and cover. Leave to rise for 2-3 hours at room temperature

4)     Switch the oven on to 230 degrees Celsius, and place a heavy baking tray into the oven while it preheats

5)      Dust a clean counter with a mixture of Matthews Tipo 00 Flour and semolina - this helps to give the breadsticks a really authentic crunch - and gently tip the dough out onto this dusted counter

6)     Once the dough is all out, dust the top with more of your flour and semolina, then use a bench scraper or a sharp knife to start cutting the dough into lengths, about a half inch wide. You can make these as long or short as you like, just make sure they fit on to the baking tray!

7)      Gently make sure each of the breadsticks is covered on all sides with your flour and semolina mixture, then remove the hot baking tray from the oven and gently place the breadsticks on. You can do a few batches if you run out of space!

8)     Bake the breadsticks for 15-17 minutes, then remove and place on a wire cooling rack. They should be crisp on the outside but soft on the inside - like the crust of a really good pizza

9)     Serve while still warm with Nutella for dipping - a really simple but delicious Italian dessert!
