Halloween Cinnamon Sugar Cookies Method

  1. Place sugar, butter and cinnamon into a bowl and cream to combine fully. You can use a spatula or an electric whisk.
  2. Add your flour and mix to reach breadcrumb consistency. Using a fork will make this step even easier.
  3. Once the breadcrumb consistency has been reached, bring the dough together using your hands. You could add some milk if necessary.
  4. Roll the dough between two pieces of parchment paper to about ½ an inch thickness and place in the fridge for 1 hr, or in the freezer for 30 minutes, minimum.
  5. Cut out your preferred shapes and reroll the dough until it is completely finished.
  6. Place the cookies further into the fridge until baking.
  7. Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 175C/Gas mark 4 for 10 minutes or until the edges are just of golden colour. Let the cookies cool down on the tray for about 5 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack to cool down completely.
  8. Ice with already made icing and have fun with the spooky expressions. Happy Halloween!!!

Bonus recipe Method

  1. Place the egg whites into a bowl or stand up mixer, whisk until frothy.
  2. Add your sieved icing sugar a tbsp at the time and combine fully. Once all icing sugar has been added, beat the mixture until preferred consistency.
  3. Divide the royal icing into smaller groups and add the choice of colours, gel preferred.
  4. Make sure to add some milk to thin your icing for filling your shapes.
