If you or someone you know is lucky enough to have been gifted a bread maker this Christmas, then we have a fantastic Boxing Day Loaf Recipe for you to try! We've teamed up with our friends at Panasonic to develop some tasty breadmaker recipes to perfectly partner with their range. This festive favourite is great for helping you use up leftovers on Boxing Day, created by our pro-baker Sophie Carey. Pictured bread maker - Panasonic SD-R2530

Panasonic Top Tip:

Panasonic "Standard" bake menus have a rest period to bring all the ingredients to the right temperature at the same time. This process can take 30 to 60 mins and makes for a longer total bake time. The "Rapid" menu settings have shorter bake times because they remove these rest periods. The "bake rapid" menu settings mix ingredients straight away, without the additional development time, often producing heavier and denser loaves.

For best results we recommend you use the Standard bake menu setting for this recipe.

Method:

  • When using "Standard Bread" settings on your bread maker, put the dried yeast in the bottom of the pan first (or in the dispenser if you have a model that dispenses dry ingredients separately)
  • Add the rest of the dry ingredients, then add the butter and water last
  • Select any "Standard White Bread" setting for a light and well risen loaf
  • When the loaf is done, remove it from the breadmaker and leave to cool on a wire rack
  • Use to make the most delicious boxing day sandwiches - filled with leftover turkey, pigs in blankets, sprouts and roast potatoes. Add gravy for an extra juicy filling!
